Beginning

In 2019, during the search for unique vineyards for Entrometido, we decided to explore the El Peral region in Tupungato. El Peral is an area we personally love, as it produces extremely balanced and elegant wines, where the fruit rarely tends towards overripeness and bitter tannins.

Thanks to its altitude (between 1150 and 1300 meters), its soils rich in fine material, and its green and humid microclimate (numerous streams flow through the area and due to its proximity to Tupungato, it has curtains of poplars, willows, shrubs, and brambles), El Peral allows for a slower ripening of the grapes.

This conserves great acidity, fruit with red or blue hues, and the roundness and elegance we seek in our wines. These conditions also allow us to experiment with whole clusters, without fear of excessive bitterness extraction.

Vineyard

In this search, we found Finca La Confluencia. This vineyard is uniquely bordered to the north and south by two ancient mountain streams, from which it derives its name. This feature allows the vineyard to have different varieties, Malbec and Merlot, in two distinct soil sectors, giving each plot the right conditions for each variety.

The Malbec, located in the northern sector of the estate, is planted on the old stream bed, with stony and loose soils. This characteristic allows it to achieve different concentration and typicity, adding to the natural elegance and freshness of the area.

On the other hand, the old Merlot pergola is planted on the central plateau of the estate, in deep loamy soils with the presence of stones. This peculiarity gives the pergola a vigorous canopy, preserving the purest varietal expression of Merlot.
